The Manitoba Mustang Association (MMFA) was founded in 1980 by enthusiasts who wanted to share their common appreciation of the Ford Mustang.
In the early 1990’s the club, which was then known as Manitoba Mustang Association & Exotic Fords changed to their current name of Manitoba Mustang & Ford Association, thus including all Mustangs and Ford inspired vehicles.
From the late 1980’s to 2000 the MMFA also participated in The World of Wheels car show. During that period the club won two trophies for best display.
The largest car show the MMFA currently hosts is called the “Henry Ford Birthday Car Show”. This show has been an annual even since 1994 and was originally started as a camping event much earlier. Over the years the show has moved around and has been at such locations as Lower Fort Gary, Carberry, The University of Manitoba, and Garden City Canad Inns, Transcona Canad Inns, Assiniboine Park Zoo, Kildonan Place Shopping Centre and Rona on Panet.
As of today the MMFA is still going strong, with an enthusiastic and active membership. The club holds three large shows per year, participates in many local shows, enjoys regular cruise nights, and also enjoys membership only events like club BBQ’s, dyno days, go kart racing and many others.
The MMFA regularly meets on the last Tuesday of every month (except December). Our meetings allow members to socialize with fellow enthusiasts, talk about upcoming events, take care of club business and involve a whole lot of car talk! These meetings are open to all potential or interested persons who would like to come out and see what the MMFA is all about. So check the your calendar and come see what the MMFA has to offer!
